  3. This Senior doesn’t do all the “techy” stuff our younger gens do; however, did want to tell you that I was in the 7339 Paradise Lane site 2 Oct, and Lisa was great! She deserves a bonus for dealing w/this Senior — and twas crazy when I was in there cause a lady claimed to be a dog trainer, but treated her dog terribly!

But just wanted to share that Lisa was great to me!

I was in the Payson office, although which office is irrelevant. I needed to renew my driver’s license and decided to get the travel ID with the new license. I took my vehicle registration, an unopened letter from Social Security, my driver’s license, and my vehicle insurance card. After waiting a few minutes for one of the three ladies without a customer but on their computers, I was called to the desk to be told I needed a passport or original birth certificate. I left and went home and got two passports, and returned. New lady said both passports were expired and couldn’t be used. I pointed out one was when I was a diplomat working in a US Embassy overseas. Expired, so no good. The second more recent, but recently expired. I pulled out a retired military ID card. Useless. So my choice was to return home and get my original birth certificate. I find it very interesting that a birth certificate almost 80 years old makes me okay to get a travel ID, but an old diplomatic passport and retired military ID card do not. The fact I have a birth certificate makes me safe to let on a commercial aircraft, but diplomatic passport and retired military ID do not. The bureaucrats that came up with the list of required documents for a travel ID and those that approved them should be relived of their positions. The ladies that follow the really stupid rules in the MVD office aren’t to blame. It’s the idiots that generated rules that don’t have a wide enough background and common sense to develop effective and efficient rules. This was a real BS exercise, just as expecting this feedback to have any effect.
