  1. On Tuesday myself and 3 other ladies visited your restaurant after an absence of many years! This was on 31st Jan.
    Hoping things might have improved over the years! But no, the prices were fair and the taste passable, but after waiting for 35 mins from order to service 2 of the meals were cold, my mothers meal was served with luke warm peas.
    Of course we told the waitress who took away all three plates, whilst my sister tucked into her salmon meal which was fine.
    When the waitress returned 10mins later it was just a shade hotter, so we said no more and suffered it! Mt mothers meal was chicken breast which I noticed she was having a lot of trouble with, when I turned it over, I could see why, it looked like it had been cremated, it was burnt black!! By now we were fed up complaining.
    Once finished we had the waitress speak to the manager who offered us a free dessert, which we declined, or a £4.99 discount, which we took, just so we could leave.
    We were not the only people to send something back, the lady behind us returned a plate of soup, which came back steaming this time.
    I’m sure we weren’t the only ones that service to have cold meals!! Its a shame that things havn’t improved over the years, the ‘harvester experience’ isn’t one I should like to repeat!!

  3. Some weeks ago we had a fist class experience at your Cardinal Park restaurant, so yesterday afternoon before we went to the cinema we called once more for a meal. Our waitress was first class and very helpful but was let down by the following:- The restaurant floors were dirty, tables not cleared,several items not available from the menu, food took a long time to come,when it arrived it was incomplete, only just warm and a very poor quality steak. We did complain but were informed that the problem was due to half term!!! Does this mean that during all school holidays we must expect the same service.

  4. We took two friends to the Windmill in Lttlehampton. When we arrived two staff finished their own conversation before turning to us. Usually we are attended to immediately and wondered if this was going to be typical of our evening. I’m pleased to say all four of us were pleased with our meal – a relief when you have taken two guests.
    On a previous visit I had a problem with a jacket potato. After complaining I was given another grey looking potato. In the end I had chips. I also eat at the Harvester in St.Albans and the potatoes there are white and fluffy. I suspect that the potatoes in Lttlehampton are being reheated.

    We went for a meal last night 5 in the party. Firstly may I add the waitress was fantastic. the lighting as always is very dim so much so we had to use a torch to read the menu. when asked if the lamp could be put on by the table we were told they are not allowed to change light bulbs.

    On entering we were approached by a not so sociable lady by the name of Sue. I believe her to be a supervisor at the Harvester in Haverhill.She is very loud and and not friendly. Obviously has her favorites. this was quite disappointing as we do go there for several meals throughout the month in the hope of things improving.
    She was more interested in the people she knew.
    This happened a few weeks back when a waitress named Kerry actually walked passed us in the queue and sat another couple down. When i questioned the fact she was quite abrupt during our time up there, this obviously had an impact on us enjoying our meal.

  8. as always i have enjoyed my visit on15 april 2012, carol d was attentive but not annoying, she knew just when to come over and check all was ok,. the prawn skewers were tastless though and found that id rather not bothered. the harvester i visited was Staunton Arms,

We visited the Apollo Warrington restaurant today and we were very disappointed, we didnt realise that we could have salad as noone offered it to us until we were leaving , my meal came with no peas and it was too late when the waitress reappeared. The atmosphere was flat and the staff made no conversation its a shame because the place looks so inviting, regards

  10. We visited The Crown at Landon Hills last saturday taking my father for a treat. We had great food, the service was excellent, our waitress ‘tracey’ was very efficient. Our meals arrived within 10 minutes, which was great as we did not have too much spare time. We were so full with the meal and the salad cart, we could not have a dessert. We also was asked about where we wanted to sit, which was nice, and as my father is on 2 sticks, we just took the nearest table. very good food and very pleasant place.

  12. A lovely meal spoilt by our drinks not arriving. We asked twice and a sulky barmaid eventually came and banged empty glasses on the table for us to go and fill ourselves. We have always had them brought filled. A pity.

  14. We allways have enjoyed the harvester near us at Cleveleys, good value and nice food but the last time was a big disappointment.
    I ordered the beef rib that cost £9.99. When it came, it consisted of a bone that resembled a lollipop with 2 small forkfuls of beef on the end which was half fat, chips not cooked poperly and a bland piece of sweetcorn. I spoke to the waitress who was very understanding and offered us sweets and coffee but I didnt want this as we wanted to get to the cinema next door in time. She then reembursed me for the £9.99 but please review this beef rib on the menu. The other things look ok even though the prices seem higher. My friends and I may be looking for another venue for our regular get togethers. By the way the staff at Clevelys are brilliant, hardworking and attentive. The kitchen mayb needs a check.!!

  19. My wife and family have enjoyed the Harvester for years in Puttenham, Surrey. When we moved to the northeast we hoped we could find one but had no joy. We came across the one near Boldon by accident and had an excellent meal. The service was top class and the setting and salad bar was as enjoyable as ever. Will be visiting again soon.

    We went in a party of four to the Summerhill House, Kingswinford for a Sunday lunch, to food generally was fine other than the baked potato that my wife had and that seemed somewhat ‘stale’ as if it had been cooked for some time.
    The day was quite a warm day and the restaurant was uncomfortably hot and somewhat stuffy,when we asked for a window to be opened we were told that they did not open! I don’t think we would go to the restaraunt again during warm weather unless there was some kind of ventilation available.
    We were served by Cath in a very friendly efficient and professional way

  29. The consistance of the food accross the country is a big plus, we use the Samons Leap in Glos, and have done so for the last 10 years and find it one of the most friendly and comfortable of the local restraunts

  30. I wish to add a positive comment as two friends and I met up last night in Hayley Green. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, we couldn’t order our first choice but the waitress was very kind about it and we chose something else. The service was perfect, our food delicious , hot and very attractively served. We used a voucher for our puddings which we always like to do. As the time passed, and while waiting for coffee, the manager asked if we were willing to vacate the table so a big party could have the area. It seemed odd but then we were happy to co-operate and the drinks were then offered as complimentary which was a nice thing to do . So all in all it was a very pleasant evening and we have already planned our next return visit. Sometimes a bit of give and take goes a long way!

On wednesday 31st Ooctober 2012, my daughter and myself visited The Harvester WR near Tingley Roundabout, we had a very pleasant lunch and the service was first class, also the prices of the meals were exceptionally good, we came across this restaurant by mistake but we visited now at least once a month, efficient and friendly staff, food excellent for money and the atmosphere very warm, would highly recommend this to anyone, my daughter and her boyfriend also celebrating their 18th there.

  34. On Friday,30th Nov. my wife and I ate at the newly opened Broad Street Plaza Harvester, Halifax. It was a pleasant experience. We both had fish and chips. The fish was superb with wonderfully crisp batter. Our only complaint was that the peas were not warm enough. The service was good and prompt (although there were not a lot of people there). We were well looked after by the staff and in particular our waitress Josh who was friendly and attentive.

  35. After trying for some time to book a meal I eventually spoke to some one who promised to ring me back. They never did! I’m still waiting and very disappointed with customer service

  37. we had a wedding reception meal with you and our waiter was Lee. The whole staff were very helpful. We went in early to decorate tables and they were so accomodating and helpful we felt we had made the perfect choice although we visited a short time before and really had a bad experience with our meal but the manager sorted everything out for us and all was fine. The meals oin the day were perfect and the staff were fantastic. Lee could not have done any more for us if he tried. There were 26 of us and everyone enjoyed the meals and had a lovely time.

  38. Very nice meal and for busy lunchtime did not have to wait to long to place order will be returning again to this Harvesters in Cardiff city plenty room to for my wheelchair suggest they could display sign wheelchair friendly so wheelchair users know its suitable for wheelchairusers

  40. We really enjoyed our meal at the Bybrook Barn Harvester. Always good value. We had a slight wait but it was bank holiday Monday, so we thought this acceptable. We had a warm welcome from the management team and food and drinks came promptly. The food was exactly what we ordered and hot and tasty. Thanks we really enjoyed our meal, we will be back.

  41. I am a regular customer off The Dog, Studley. Three weeks ago half the heating was not working, two weeks ago none of the heating was working, one week ago the heating was still not working, I ate my meal with my coat on.
    One week acceptable , waiting for the engineers etc. two weeks not acceptable , three weeks, a downright disgrace to expose customers to the cold conditions. It does not bode well to get customers to return.

  42. Thur 3rd march went to the summer hill in kingswinford for an evening meal what a dissappointment the steak was chewy the chips were awfull and the attitude othe staff was if you dont like ityou can lump it.

  43. My Mum & I visited the Bentley Wood Farm Harvester at Hapton, Lancs today for Breakfast. We normally visit about once a week for Dinner.

    As expected, the food, service & quality for money were fantastic.

    Linda, the Waitress, is the most, pleasant, polite, attentive lady you could meet.

    Well done all, highly recommended. 5*
